 Program Areas:
  • Certificate in ICT & Entrepreneurship Training
Two months of training for 10-12 youth that empowers them to learn what interests them and use that interest to create economic opportunities for themselves.During the training, facilitators teach a research-based curriculum composed of 12 modules that develop professional skills, computer skills, and financial literacy while also improving their self-awareness, self-confidence and self-management. In order to graduate from the program, students must complete the online course as well as hand in an assignment for each of the twelve modules. Assignments help the participants continue to define their interests and plans- for example, a personal SWOT (strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, threats) analysis or a life plan- as well as set them up for success when looking to start a venture or for employment- for example, a CV or a business plan.

  • Career Guidance & Motivational Talks
Kyusa partners with secondary schools and tertiary institutions to offer career guidance and motivational talks to students. This is aimed at empowering students to choose passion driven careers, equip them with life skills as well life application principles that prepare them for their future lives and careers. The sessions are tailored to the specific needs of students and the time allocated by the hosting partner. 

  • Holiday Makers Packages
Kyusa offers specialized packages for holiday makers that equip them with specific skills. The packages are organized with the in put of the parents or gurdians of the student and tailored to the specific needs of the participants. These packages range from basic computer skills, specific computer programs, advanced computer skills, job skills, business skills, career coaching and mentoring, pyschosocial support services and organizing field (career) exposure visits.

  • Kyusa dialogues
Kyusa organizes workshops and seminars for young adults and young workers. The workshops are aimed at equiping young people with pre and in- job skills that can empower them to advance in their careers. They are also tailored to help young people identify their life purpose and equip them with skills to turn their potential into productive skills for fruitful living. Dialogue events are organized on a monthly basis and a small fee is charged for the certificate and training materials.

Objectives:

Kyusa has been designed to meet the following long-term outcomes:
  • To develop a culture of life-long learning
  • To empower youth to develop passion driven, sustainable careers
  • To provide the tools they youth need to earn a monthly income that allows them to break the cycle of poverty.

The target group:


  • Male and female youth 14 – 25 years old     
  • Out of school and in school youth                
  • Have a minimum secondary education
  • Have basic understanding of English
